Total Care Services, Inc. provides supported employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Our Supported Employment services are designed to help you find and keep the job you feel comfortable in. Once employed, we can provide ongoing support to ensure your continued success.

We offer Supported Employment services through the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

Supported Employment Services — Rehabilitation Services Administration

With Supported Employment services from RSA, we target your short-term needs. These services will not only help you to find a job, but also provide support while you get settled in your role. The goal is to help you maintain competitive, integrated employment. Services include:

  • Intake and assessment
  • Job placement
  • Job training and support
  • Follow-along services

Are you eligible?

To consider your eligibility for Supported Employment services from the RSA, you will need to:

  • Qualify for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services
  • Have a significant disability
  • Have a comprehensive assessment that shows that Supported Employment services are appropriate for your needs and goals.

How do you apply?

The RSA's Supported Employment services are part of its Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program. To receive Supported Employment services from RSA, you'll need to qualify for their VR services. Learn more about RSA's application process on our Eligibility for DC Services page.

Supported Employment Services - Developmental Disabilities Administration

Are you receiving Waiver services from the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)? If so, you may be eligible for Supported Employment services through the DDA. Job coaches can provide longer-term, ongoing employment support to ensure your success. The frequency of this service is different for each person and tailored to your needs.

Overview

Supported Employment services from the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) are designed to provide opportunities for persons with disabilities to obtain competitive work in integrated work settings. These opportunities should be at minimum wage or higher and at a rate comparable to workers without disabilities performing the same tasks. Our services comply with the requirements of the HCBS Settings Rule.

How can our Supported Employment services help you?

Our Supported Employment services are person-centered. This means the services you receive match your needs, goals, wishes, and desires. We also take into account recommendations from your team of support, Individual Support Plan (ISP), Plan of Care, and of Summary of Supports.

Looking to gain skills to find a job you want? If you're enrolled in DC's Medicaid Home and Community-Based Waiver, Employment Readiness services may be able to help.

What are Employment Readiness services?

Employment Readiness services are designed to increase your employability. These services offer support and provide valuable learning and work experiences.

How can Employment Readiness services benefit you?

Along with employment-related skills, you can build strengths that are not job or task-specific. You'll gain skills that can lead to competitive integrated employment. This means finding work in an inclusive setting that meets minimum wage requirements.

How are Employment Readiness services delivered at TCS?

Our Employment Readiness services are person-centered. We'll work with you to provide services or volunteer opportunities based on your personal preferences. We'll also incorporate vocational and other work related assessments.
